Steve Bell - NOS
Brexit blessing for cartoonist, but 'it suits me too' In the messy office of Steve Bell (67) you stumble over books, boxes of watercolors and old cartoons. He spends hours there every day. Pensive, sketching and deleting. "The day starts with reading a stack of newspapers and watching the news on television. And then I sit and try. Until another cartoon comes out." Bell won several prizes for his political drawings. He has been working for the British newspaper The Guardian for more than thirty years and is one of the best known cartoonists in Great Britain. But even though he has been in the business for forty years, there has never before been a subject that dominated his work as much as brexit.
